Polina Vigderman established Health Education Resources of Denver in August 2004. The school's main focus is to provide test preparatory knowledge to the general population giving students the ability to pass the national PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) exam on their first try and become a Certified Pharmacy Technician. The training students receive allows for entry-level employment in this field without costing a lot of money or taking an unreasonable amount of time to complete.

It was realized in the planning and research stages that all the technician type programs offered through the internet seemed to specifically target pharmacy technicians already employed in the industry but not certified. On the other side were community college programs that tailored to younger high school students or recent high school graduates. Most of these similar courses were cost prohibitive, even with financial aid, and lasted almost a year; too long for most adults with families or time restraints due to work obligations. Hence, the short course was developed.

Health Education Resources of Denver is approved and regulated by The Colorado Department of Higher Education, Division of Private Occupational Schools, 1560 Broadway, Suite 1600, Denver, CO 80202, Phone 303-866-2723, fax 303-866-4267. Our CPhT classes are taught by highly respected industry professionals with the training and experience to provide outstanding technician education.

Testimonials

I want to thank the entire staff at the Denver Pharmacy School of Denver. Joe Medina is an excellent instructor and actual makes the course an enjoyment to take. You can't beat the tuition either. Compared with other schools that charge thousands, Denver Pharmacy School is priced right. They don't waste your time. In 12 short weeks you are prepared to take the PTCB test and move on to a well paying position. If you are the victim of a job layoff or looking to charge careers, this could be your ticket to a respectable new career as a Certified Pharmacy Technician. That's what I did. Thanks again Polina and Joe for making it all possible.

I was fortunate to find an avenue towards becoming a Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Denver Pharmacy School. After being out of the field for several years and needing a refresher, this school presented the perfect option. Polina runs the school very efficiently and is most helpful to the students seeking employment in the field. Joe presents lessons with a "no nonsense" caring sort of teaching style which puts any student at ease and helps one master the material. I passed the CPht 2 weeks before the end of the course owing to this style.

Pharmacy technicians work under the supervision of registered pharmacists, handling many of the drug product related tasks that must be done in the pharmacy. In an outpatient, or drug store, setting, pharmacy technicians prepare prescription medications. They also enter prescription information into the computer, and help with inventory control and customer service. Pharmacy technicians may choose to work in the inpatient, or hospital, environment. Pharmacy technicians who work in the inpatient area prepare medications for distribution, using unit-dose cassettes or automated dispensing machines. Inpatient pharmacy technicians often prepare intravenous solutions and other types of sterile products. Inventory control and computer entry of medications orders are also part of the inpatient pharmacy technician’s job. Many home health care and home infusion pharmacies employ pharmacy technicians. These pharmacies provide intravenous medications and supplies to home-bound patients.
No hefty tuition charges or student loans to pay back, become immediately employable.
